A Quick Look at Ollie
Ollie promises fresh, healthy dog food delivered right to your door. Using premium ingredients like USDA beef and pasture-raised lamb, Ollie dog food provides optimal nutrition and unbeatable flavor. You’ll enjoy convenient deliveries and your dog will benefit from a personalized meal plan catered to his unique dietary needs and calorie requirements.
All dog food recipes are not created equal. When it comes to the quality of a dog food product, you have to consider the ingredients as well as the process used to prepare it. Commercial kibble is often made using mediocre ingredients and can be subjected to high heat during the process of extrusion. These factors combine to produce a convenient, shelf-stable product but it may not be best for your dog.
Fresh dog food is a much healthier option, especially when made from human-grade ingredients. A fresh food diet for dogs supports your pup’s optimal health and wellness by improving digestion, boosting energy levels, supporting immunity, and optimizing nutrition. Simply put, fresh dog food is better.
We understand you want to give your dog the best of the best, but we also know it can be difficult to figure out what that means. If you’re looking to upgrade your dog’s diet, we highly recommend you consider fresh food and we heartily endorse Ollie fresh dog food delivery.

When it comes to the quality of their food, Ollie doesn’t make compromises. Not only are their ingredients all human-grade, but their meats are sourced from family-run farms in the U.S. and Australia. Their fruits and vegetables are gently cooked to preserve nutrition and every recipe is enriched with superfoods and completely free from fillers, by-products, and artificial additives.
Ollie offers flexible delivery schedules to ensure you get the right amount of fresh dog food when you need it. Shipping is free and each delivery ships automatically, so you never have to worry about running out. You can always change or skip deliveries through your online account.
With their vet-formulated, freshly cooked recipes, Ollie promises health benefits you can see. Once your dog starts eating a fresh food diet, you’ll notice improvements in his energy, coat, and body weight. Many dogs eating Ollie experience relief from food allergies as well. Choose from four protein-rich recipes made with premium animal proteins like beef, chicken, turkey, and lamb.
How the Products Are Made
Ollie offers fresh dog food recipes made with real animal protein and other wholesome natural ingredients. They have four recipes to choose from featuring premium meat and poultry including beef, lamb, turkey, and chicken. Each recipe lists an animal source of protein as the first ingredient with supplemental protein from nutritious animal organs like beef heart and chicken liver.
To create their recipes, Ollie paired up with a team of canine nutritionists to ensure that each meal delivers complete and balanced nutrition. Their ingredients are thoughtfully sourced from human-grade farms. All chicken, beef, and turkey ingredients are hormone-free and their premium, pasture-raised lamb comes from free-range farms in the U.S. and Australia.
Ollie dog food is cooked at low temperatures in small batches to preserve the nutritional quality of the raw ingredients. Recipes are prepared in company-owned facilities in New Jersey and packed by hand. When you receive your order of Ollie dog food, you can rest assured it hasn’t been sitting in a freezer for six months. Each batch is tested for quality and safety before being sent out.
How Much Does It Cost?
Fresh dog food is understandably more expensive than kibble for a number of reasons. Not only does the quality of the ingredients tend to be higher, but many fresh dog food companies use human-grade facilities and make their foods in small batches. Ollie fresh dog food is made with USDA approved ingredients without any artificial additives or by-products, plus recipes have a single source of protein.
The cost to feed your dog Ollie dog food will vary depending on your dog’s size – it may also depend on the recipe(s) you choose. On average, the daily cost for Ollie ranges from about $2 for small dogs and $6 for larger dogs. To feed our 30-pound test dog it cost a little under $50 per week.
What is the Subscription Process Like?
Like most fresh dog food delivery companies, Ollie subscription plans start with a pet profile. You’ll need to provide information about your dog’s age, breed, weight, and activity level with additional details about health problems and dietary preferences. From there, you’ll be asked to up to 4 of Ollie’s fresh dog food recipes to create your pup’s personalized meal plan.
Once you’ve chosen your dog’s recipes, you’ll be able to customize your delivery schedule. Ollie offers two options – you can have 14 days’ worth of food delivered every 2 weeks or 28 meals delivered every 4 weeks. Ollie doesn’t portion out your dog’s food for you, so you’ll need to follow the included instructions and use the special scoop that comes with each order to feed your dog the right amount.
Recipe Feature: Beef Recipe
First 5 Ingredients | Beef | Beef heart | Sweet potato | Peas | Potato |
Guaranteed Analysis | 9% protein | 7% fat | 2% fiber | 70% moisture | |
Calories | 1,540 kcal/kg |
Ingredients:
Beef, beef heart, sweet potato, peas, potato, beef kidney, carrot, beef liver, spinach, chia seed, dicalcium phosphate, blueberries, fish oil, iodized salt, zinc gluconate, rosemary, vitamin E supplement, pyridoxine hydrochloride (vitamin B6), riboflavin (vitamin B2), potassium iodide.
Our Analysis:
All of Ollie’s fresh dog food recipes start with real animal protein as the first ingredient and this beef recipe is no exception. Not only is fresh beef the first ingredient, but a supplementary source of protein comes second: beef heart. You’ll also find beef kidney and beef liver further down the list.
This fresh food is grain-free, made with sweet potato, peas, and potatoes as the primary carbohydrates. Carrot, spinach, and blueberries provide additional natural sources of key nutrients while chia seed and fish oil seem to be the primary sources of fat (largely omega-3 fatty acids). The estimated carbohydrate content of this recipe is only about 10% which is about the maximum acceptable amount according to many vet experts.
To get a better understanding of the composition of this recipe, we calculated the dry matter content using the 70% moisture value. Converted to a dry matter basis, this recipe contains 30% crude protein, 23% fat, and about 6.7% fiber. The protein content is a little lower than we’d like, but well within the recommended range for adult dogs. The fat content may be a little high, but Ollie calculates your dog’s calorie needs, so it shouldn’t be a problem. At nearly 7%, the fiber content of this recipe is a little high – most dogs don’t require anything more than 5%.
Generally speaking, this recipe appears to provide excellent nutritional quality. We love that it is full of real animal protein (from a single source, no less) and that it is supplemented with fresh fruits and veggies. Synthetic supplements are used to provide nutritional balance, but in limited quantity.
